Mudhaad is a subcaste among Brahmins, and Kaushal is a gotra within the Brahmins. Therefore, Brahmins belonging to the Kaushal gotra and the Mudhaad subcaste are referred to as Mudhaad Kaushal Brahmins. They are primarily found in the state of Punjab and have their Jathere in the village of Lakhpur Sahni near Phagwara in Punjab.
Their Kuldevta is Baba Balaknath , and their Kuldevi is Mata Chintpurni . Every year, on the day before the beginning of Chaitra Navratri, the Mudhaad Kaushal Brahmins consecrate at their Jathere in Lakhpur Sahni.
